The letter, addressed to the Human Rights Council, urges immediate attention to the severe human rights violations occurring in Sudan due to ongoing conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The conflict, which began over a year ago, has spread across multiple regions, including Darfur and Khartoum, causing a drastic humanitarian crisis with over 8.2 million people displaced. Both sides are accused of committing atrocities such as attacks on civilians, arbitrary arrests, torture, and sexual violence.
The Al Khatim Adlan Centre (KACE) calls for an immediate ceasefire, condemnation of the violence, an extension of the Fact-Finding Mission’s (FFM) mandate, and robust UN monitoring. The letter also urges neighboring countries to assist in gathering evidence of the violations.
